The tough little gray jay (Perisoreus canadensis) is found in northern forests all across Canada, and rightfully so because it’s the country's national bird. The jay is known by many names including whisky jack or Wisakedjak, the Algonquin word for a mischievous, transforming spirit who plays tricks on people. Rising temperatures due to climate change threaten this bird’s outdoor food storage system.
