Pacific salmon are integral to First Nations cultures, which have flourished for thousands of years. Sockeye salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka) is one of five species of salmon found on the west coast, and because sockeye prefer colder temperatures than other salmon species, sockeye may be the most sensitive to climate change.
